Joey Gilbert Addresses Phase Two Reopening May 27 2020

Wednesday, May 27, 2020

Some may think that sometimes I’m a little tough on the Governor. I just think that when you are on a leadership position you step up and do what needs to be done, no matter what. Personally, I’m not cutting him a slack.  If you want to cut him a slack you can go ahead and cut him some slack.

Now, let’s talk about Governor Sisolak reopens phase two. What does phase two mean? Well, finally we can all go to work, almost all of us. Businesses will reopen with the exception of as you know, the night clubs, day clubs, the adult entertainment establishments, live sporting events, and live entertainment venues with spectators. The Governor will address this with you, but I will share with you that they are going to limit spectators to any of the events. Again, ridiculous, and doesn’t need to happen but first, let’s unpack a few things. So, the governor under the abundance of caution again. Let’s talk about what is really happening.

The state spent couple of weeks and months preparing for an overrun or an overwhelming of the medical system that did not happen, thank God. We lost a lot of people in the state, over 400 that should have not died. If precautions took place a little earlier and we got therapeutic use care to the nursing home earlier, I think we would have saved a lot of people. This could not have happened.

This is what I want to say again, if you are being admitted to the hospital and you are requesting hydroxychloroquine and you don’t have family with because they separated them from you because of the pandemic. Get out your smartphone, make a recording that you are requesting a specific medication. Send it to your loved ones or send it to me at or send it to someone who can send it tom me, because if you are requesting this medicine and they are not providing it to you they are going to have problems, that much I can assure you.

There is the issue of contact tracing issue, and I don’t agree with that. We need to push back on that. And if any of you is diagnosed with Covid19, you should stay in quarantine for 14 days, you are responsible, be responsible, understand that you could affect a lot of people. One of the things I think is important though to bring up is as I said yesterday, we are going to see an uptick because of testing. Yesterday, governor Sisolak was bragging about that on most days were surpassing the goal of 4000 tests a day. Today, state labs reported more than 9,325 tests. That’s awesome. You are going to see an increase in positive test results for coronavirus. do not let this freak you out. again, as I have been saying so many times. As I went through the findings of a doctor from Hoover Institution at Stanford University, you have less than a 0.12-0.2 percent chance of dying from COVID19 (Bendavid, Mulaney, Sood, Shah, Ling, Bromley-Dulfano, & Bhattacharya, 2020). That’s assuming you are dealing with it alone or you are not receiving the proper care for covid19.

And for those of you who doesn’t know, we have filed I have filed a class action lawsuit on behalf of all businesses, churches, and all gyms. All last week. SO, I’m not surprised to see all these regulations lightening up because without the crazy stay at home order we have in our neighboring California it would have been very hard to prove for the governor, and his team that some businesses were being treated unfairly. The word is arbitrary and capricious, why were they singling out certain businesses or these houses of worship, and letting these others to be at 50 percent operation capacity. It has been a tough time for the tattoo artists, massage therapists, estheticians and gyms. I'm just glad the governor did something.  It was going to be hard to overcome for the small businesses. Some type of leadership, right wrong or indifferent, he made a move. You got to appreciate that.

Now as we go into our opening phase and as the positives tick up. An article by News4 reported that lakeside health and wellness here in Reno Nevada accounts for more than half of Washoe county's death toll (Margiott, 2020). Our critical health care facilities are now almost empty. The last time I checked there was only one in the ventilators. Now what we are worried about is our nursing homes, our veteran’s homes, our assisted care facilities, we have to make we are being proactive there, and that they have access to hydroxychloroquine.  The governor talked about ability to protect our vulnerable populations, but what are you doing specifically for the nursing homes, what type of outreach have you put in place, who is testing these people on aa daily basis, who is providing the most effective medication, hydroxychloroquine.

If you have a positive test for coronavirus, don’t believe me, believe Dr. Vladimir Zelenko. He provided a three-drug regimen of Hydroxychloroquine sulfate, Zinc, and Azithromycin (Z-pak) that he used to successfully treat 699 coronavirus patients with 100% success. The treatment is associated with less hospitalization and death. All the treatments were started early in the diagnosis. So, as soon as you test positive for COVID19, you got to get on this medicine.

Again, on the phase two, they are emphasizing on the importance social distancing, private gatherings, no gatherings of more than 50 people.  Guys you have seen it everywhere, go down to the park, the river there’s more than 50 people, no one out there doing anything, there's no crazy rampant death taking place because the state is coming back out to work together. I do agree with governor Sisolak, yes, there are some things I agree with him. We do agree on Nevada's vulnerable population that should continue to shelter in place. All I mean is by that is nursing homes, assisted care facilities, those with chronic medical conditions and all our high-risk community. You know what, get out there, get that vitamin D, get that fresh air, keep your diet on point. Also, in phase two, people are required to wear face coverings in public places. Some businesses will be allowed to operate, some will remain closed. I am not going to say anything, but this is not fair for night and day clubs, adult entertainment establishments, brothels, live performance and live sporting venues. Some of you are still struggling. If you need any help, you can reach me at
